John L. McQuillen, native of Cedar county, died in his home here last Friday. Funeral services were conducted from the home Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock by the Rev. Otis Moore and the Rev. A. W. Straub. Interment was made in the Inland cemetery.

John L. McQuillen, son of Cyrus and Susie McQuillen, was born in Inland township, Cedar county, Iowa, on May 31, 1869 and died at his home in Tipton, Iowa, May 18, 1934, having reached the age of 64 years, 11 months and 18 days.

On February 7, 1897 he was united in marriage to Miss Addie Sherwood. They began life together on a farm a few miles northwest of Bennett. They remained there until 13 years ago when they came to Tipton where they have since made their home.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, three brothers, E. E., Elvin, and Forest of Tipton; two sisters, Mrs. Luella McCrosky of Wilton, and Mrs. Pyra Fulton of Storm Lake.

With these, a host of relatives and friend join in mourning his passing. His father and mother and two brothers preceded him in death. He loved his home and no one in need was ever turned from his door.
