Adam Fritchman 1824-1907

Adam Fritchman was born at Carlisle, Cumberland county, Pennsylvania, Feb. 29, 1824.

He was married Oct. 12, 1848, to Margaret Ann McGrew. They came with their family to Rock Island county, Illinois, in the year 1855 living here until the spring of 1867, when they moved near Muscatine, Iowa. Moving from there to West Branch, Iowa, in 1895. The last remaining years were spent among their children, she preceding him to the better world on Feb. 9, 1904.

The last few years of his life were spent in much suffering which he bore patiently looking forward to a home in heaven and the meeting with loved ones gone before. He was a member of the Methodist church.

To this union were born six children, one daughter, Rebecca dying in infancy and Catharine, dying in 1880 at the age of 24 years.

The remaining children left to mourn his loss are Mrs. Lindley Heald, West Branch, Iowa; Mrs. Homer Cattell, Carlisle, Iowa; William O. Fritchman, Muscatine, Iowa; John Fritchman, Red Bluff, Cal.; and one brother, Michael Fritchman, of Savannah, Mo.
