Funeral services for William H. McClellan, 93, were held Sept. 9 at the Tipton Methodist church with the Rev. Eugene Miller in charge. Burial was in the Clarence cemetery. The Dye Funeral home was in charge.

Pallbearers were Wayne Saunders, Richard Dircks, Howard Hamilton, Larry Hostler, Harold Heick and Ellis Stonerook. Mrs. Wendell Willer was vocalist, accompanied by Mrs. Irma Crawford. Mrs. Herbert Fagan and Mrs. Erwin Doermann were in charge of flowers.

Mr. McClellan died Sept. 7 at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids following a short illness.

A member of a pioneer Cedar county family, Mr. McClellan was born Oct. 22, 1869 on a farm south of Lowden, the son of John and Mary Arlington McClellan. John McClellan came to Cedar county in 1848, entering land near the present site of Lowden.

William McClellan was educated in the country grade school and graduated from Clarence high school.

He was married to Margaret Tilson at Moline, Ill., in February, 1904. The couple farmed in Cedar county for many years and Mr. McClellan spent his life in the Cedar county area.

He was a member of the Methodist church in Clarence, and was a member of the Methodist church. He was also a member of the Cedar County Historical society.

He is survived by 3 sons, Howard, Clarence; John, Madison, Wis., and Lawrence, New York City; 4 grandchildren, Mrs. John (Lois) Stock, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Dean (Rosalyn) Dawson, Earham; Margaret and William McClellan, Madison and 2 great-grandchildren.
