Harold Stewart, son of David and Mina Innes, was born in Tipton, January 5, 1896, and died at his home Sunday May 5, 1936, at the age of 39 years and 4 months. He had lived his entire life, with the exception of four or five years, in this community. On July 12, 1930 Harold Innes was untied in marriage with Clara Watkins. He was a World War Veteran and served for nine months overseas. He was a charter member of Gary-Whalen Post American Legion of Tipton. He was also a charter member of the Cedar County Post No. 2537 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Innes leaves to mourn his going his wife, and daughter Helen Elizabeth, his aged mother Mrs. David Innes, two sisters, Mrs. Clara Johnston of Tipton and Miss Louise Innes of Pasadena, California; two brothers, Joseph and Charles of Tipton.

Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Episcopal church, Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, with the Rev. Roscoe C. Jerrell in charge. A quartet composed of Dr. Kenneth Walker, Mr. D. J. Kelley, Mr. Ora Mayes and Mr. Frank Gordon sang three numbers. They were accompanied at the organ by Mrs. C. C. Crawford. The pallbearers were Veterans of the World War. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery with American Legion ritual service.
