3 June 1925 - The Tipton Conservative

HEYDEN - Ernest O. Heyden was born in Cedar County August 31, 1905, and departed this life from the home near Tipton May 20, 1925, aged 19 years, 8 months and 28 days, having spent all of his life in this vicinity.

He was a student in the Tipton school and in Brown's Business college in Davenport. While attending the latter he was attacked by the dread disease which finally ended his life.

He was a patient sufferer during the long months and did not complain of the affliction which he suffered.

He was an affectionate and obedient son, and endeared himself to a large number of friends.

He had an earnest faith and approached the end of his life without fear, knowing that all was well with him. He was baptized on the 23d of September of last year and would have attended the services of the church had his health permitted him to do so.

There remain to mourn his departure and to cherish his memory his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Heyden; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Heyden; his grandparents, Mrs. Daniel Ford of Tipton, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Heyden of Manchester, and other relatives and friends.

The bereaved family has the heartfelt sympathy of the community. May the comforts of the gospel of Christ be their portion until we know as we have been known where there is no more sorrowing and where we shall never say goodbye.

Services were from the Mrs. D. Ford home and the Methodist church Friday afternoon, Rev. Hudson officiating, and burial made in the Masonic cemetery.
