Last rites for Mrs. Mildred H. Doty, 82, mother of Hugh Doty, Publisher of the North Cedar Press, were held January 3 at Webster City. Mrs. Doty died December 31 at Nevada Nursing home where she had been a patient for 3 1/2 years.

Mildred Horsley, daughter of Washington and Sarah Shane Horsley, was born October 25, 1887 on a farm near Columbia, South Dakota.

She graduated from the former Spearfish Normal College, Spearfish, South Dakota and then moved to Webster City where she taught school in Hamilton county for 13 years. She was married to Lynn Doty March 7, 1917 and with the exception of 10 years in South Dakota, spent the remainder of her life in Webster City.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Reno (Marcelle) Brown, Ames; 2 sons, Hugh, Mechanicsville and Wayne, Dennison; 6 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Helen Lohmeier, LaCrescenta, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1948 and 2 brothers and a sister.
