On the Wapsipinicon River
Near Thorne’s Mills, Clinton county, Iowa.
The undersigned has established a new ferry across the Wapsipinicon River, 1 mile south of Thorne’s Mills, where he is prepared with new and first rate boats to cross persons and teams at all hours. This ferry is situated on the most direct route from Maquoketa to Tipton, the distance being four or five miles less than any other route. At the ferry the banks are high, and contiguous is first rate camping ground for emigrants. Persons going to California will find this the best road and a ferry at which they can cross without delay.
