L. A. KNAPP, CASS RESIDENT FOR 55 YEARS, SUCCUMBS

Louis Albert Knapp, 73, a resident of Cass county for 55 years, died Sunday morning at 7 o’clock at his home eight miles south of Atlantic. Death followed a week’s illness.

Mr. Knapp was born Jan. 27, 1870, at St. Louis, Mo., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Knapp, and when he was two years old, he moved with his parents to Sullivan, Mo. He came to Cass county when he was 18 years old and had resided here since. He was married at the present family home south of Atlantic to Lena Bartsch.

Surviving are the widow, one daughter, Mrs. Chester Nettz of Atlantic; two sons, Melvin Knapp of Detroit and Frank Knapp of Atlantic; six half brothers, Walter, Martin and Abraham Behm, living in New Mexico, Charles Behm of Carmen, Okla., August Behm of Pendleton, Ore., and John Behm, living in Illinois; one half sister, Mrs. James Carlos of Sullivan, Mo., and one grandson, Roger Edward Nettz of Atlantic. A brother, Fred Behm, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the Roland, Peacock & Baxter funeral home and interment will be in Oakwood cemetery at Lewis. The body will be at the funeral home until the service hour. The Rev. A. Breeling of the Lewis Methodist church will officiate.
