RITES TODAY FOR MRS. R. A. BERRY, WHO DIED FRIDAY

Mrs. Grace Ruella Berry, 63, wife of R. A. Berry, 1107 Locust street, died Friday evening at 6:35 at the family home following a lingering illness. Mrs. Berry had been in failing health for two years and in a serious condition the past several months.

She was born March 28, 1880, at Adair, the daughter of George and Cora Bancroft Marr, and spent her early life in the Adair vicinity. She was married March 16, 1897, at Anita, to Alfred Elmer Doop, who died Aug. 27, 1916. On Nov. 17, 1928, she was married to R. A. Berry in Atlantic. Mrs Berry was baptized in the Methodist church and was a member of O. E. S. chapter 194, White Shrine, Rebekah and Royal Neighbor lodges.

Surviving are the husband, two sons, Russell L. Doop of Buffalo, Wyo., and Roy Doop of Des Moines, and four grandchildren, Ronald, Roy, Jimmy and Barbara Lu Doop. A daughter, Mrs. Joe Peebles, died March 23, 1928.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Roland, Peacock & Baxter funeral home, the Rev. Lauren D. Thomas of the Atlantic Methodist church officiating, and interment was in the Atlantic cemetery. Organ selections for the service, by Mrs. Minnie Litterst, were “Face to Face” and “Abide With Me.”

Members of the Rebekah, Royal Neighbor, O. E. S. and White Shrine attended the rites in a body and casket bearers were C. S. Relyea, Clay Webber, Tom C. Smith, Harold Rosenkild, F. W. Wiese and Ed Gaylord.
