Joseph Beyerink, 78, of Lidderdale died at St. Anthony Regional Hospital early Friday morning. He had been in failing health for the past several years.

Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday at Holy Family Church, Lidderdale with the Rev. Robert Gralapp officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery under the direction of the Sharp Funeral Home, Carroll.

Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home, Carroll after 2 p.m. Sunday. The rosary will be recited Sunday at 3 p.m. and a parish rosary at 8 p.m. There will be a scriptural prayer service at 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Mr Beyerink, son of Henry and Anna Hulsing Beyerink, was born on Sept. 13, 1898 at Mt. Carmel. He spent his young manhood in the Mt. Carmel Community. He received his education at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Schools, Mt. Carmel. His marriage to Clara Heugerich took place on Sept. 14, 1937 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church with the late Rev. Bernard Loeffelholz officiating. After their marriage they moved to a farm three miles southwest of Mt. Carmel and later moved to a farm northeast of Glidden until retirement in 1971. He was a member of the Holy Family Church, Lidderdale, Catholic Order of Foresters of Breda and Holy Name Society of Holy Family Parish of Lidderdale.

Surviving are his wife, Clara of Glidden; a son, Duane of Carroll; a daughter, Mrs. David (Jean) Buchheit of Waukee and six grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Bernadine Willeke of Carroll and Mrs. Emma Weber of Carroll.

Mr. Beyerink was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
