Mrs. Mary Ann Redick passed away Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home of her niece, Mrs. George McAninch, 520 East Twenty-ninth street, Davenport. Her death terminated a lingering illness.
The deceased was born at Pittsburg, Penn., on Nov. 10, 1853, being 89 years old at the time of her death. She came to Scott county in 1855 and one year later in July was united in marriage to George Redick, who preceded her in death 12 years ago. Following her marriage she resided in the neighborhood of Scott county the greater part of her life. Six years ago she made her home with her niece, Mrs. McAninch, who at that time lived on a farm near Long Grove. When her niece came to Davenport, Mrs. Redick accompanied her and has since been making her home at the present address of her niece. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Surviving are one son, Emerson Redick of Paynesville, Minn., one daughter, Mrs. Sarah Johnson of Manning, Ia., one sister, Mrs. Lydia Yegge of South Dakota, and four grandchildren.
Short funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11 o'clock from the home of her niece with Rev. B.F. Martin of the Congregational church officiating. Monday afternoon the body will be taken to Manning, Ia., for services and interment in the Manning cemetery Tuesday.
