STEVEN H. VENNER

BREDA-Steven H. Venner, M. of Breda, a retired farmer and former director for I5 years of St. Bernard parish here, died at 10:15 p.m. Monday. Oct. 15 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll after having been in failing health for the past several years.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Bernard church. Burial will be in the Parrish cemetery. Military services will be conducted at the graveside by Fred F. and Norman J. Bruning Post 607 of the American Legion in Breda.

Pallbearers will be four grandsons: James, Tom, and Dale Venner and Frank Smith: two nephews: Lawrence and Cyril Venner. Joan and Mark Venner. grandchildren will be gift-bearers and a granddaughter Elisabeth Venner will be lector.

Friend s may call at the Sharp Funeral home in Breda after 2 p.m. Wednesday. Rosaries will be recited at 3 and 1:45 p.m. A scriptural prayer service will be conducted at 8 p.m.

Mr. Venner is survived by his wife, a daughter Mrs. Gene L. (Eugenia M.) Tolle, Cresco; a son Paul. Breda; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and a brother John, Carroll.

He was preceded by his parents, a brother and a sister. Mr. Venner was born Feb. 13.1894 at Breda, a son of Henry and Mary Elisabeth Koster Venner. He spent his entire life in the Breda area, farming a mile and three-quarters north of here until his retirement in 1953 when they moved into Breda. He was married April 12, 1921, to Mary Erlemeier at St. Mary's church in Danbury with the late Rev. E.L. Schleyer officiating. They celebrated their golden wedding in 1971. Mr. Venner was a member of St. Bernard Church and the American Legion. He was a veteran of World War I.
