Oct 5, 1946 - Carroll Times - Funeral services for Fred E. Bell, who succumbed to a heart attack at St. Anthony hospital yesterday morning, are to be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning at St. Joseph church, of which he was a member. The Rt. Rev. Monsignor P.T. Lynch will offer the requiem mass. Burial will be in the Carroll city cemetery beside his wife, who died several years ago. The body is remaining at the Sharp Funeral home until the time of the rites. The rosary, led by Monsignor Lynch, will be prayed.

Mr. Bell spent his life in Carroll, where he was born March, 30, 1890, a son of Fred and Addie Bell, both of whom are now deceased. He attended the public schools here.

He was married November 15, 1918 to Alice Starks at Boone, Iowa. He was a veteran of World war I, having entered the army on his wedding day. After serving overseas with the infantry, he was discharged July 28, 1919.

Mr. Bell, a musician, taught piano and several other instruments. He had pupils in surrounding towns as well as Carroll.

Surviving are one brother, Arthur J Bell of Minneapolis, who is now on his way to Carroll; two sisters Mrs. Woodie Smith of Chicago and Izora, of Dallas, Tex., and a half brother, David Davis of Waterloo, who is here now.
