April 30, 1925 - Carroll Times - John McGrane died at Rochester, Minn., Friday morning; following an operation of an extremely dangerous nature. The McGrane family have been residents of this city but a few years, having moved here from Omaha. They were prosperous farmers in the vicinity of Arcadia and when they took up their residence in this city bought a beautiful substantial home on South Maple street. Funeral services were held Monday morning at the St. Joseph church with a requiem high mass. The pallbearers were Charles Williams, Frank Ruddy, M.J. Thelen, John Duffy, T. Carey, M. Casey, M.F.
