William C. Hobbs and Jessie A. Lumpkin

Lake City Graphic, Lake City, Iowa
September 28, 1899

Married, on September 23d, 1899, by Rev. J. Roney, at the Baptist parsonage, William C. Hobbs, and Jessie A. Lumpkin, all of Lake City, Iowa.

Miss Jessie is a favorite with all who know her. She is one of the very best of the young ladies who have grown to womanhood in this section. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Lumpkin, who are as loth to part with her from the home family circle as parents could be, but as she has chosen for a life partner such a model young man as W. C. Hobbs, son of the late Captain, and Mrs. L. F. Hobbs, it does not seem to them that she has really departed from their fireside. As a school teacher Miss Lumpkin was a full success, beloved by her scholars and honored by their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Hobbs will be at home, for the coming year at least, upon the Hobbs farm south-east of town. The choicest of life’s blessings are wished for them by all their acquaintances.
