Stevenson, Evan Clements
(Nov 30, 1858 – Mar 7, 1930)

Evan C. Stevenson was born in Georgetown, Kentucky on November 30, 1858. He passed his early life on a farm, obtained a good common school education and then took a regular course and graduated at Georgetown Kentucky College. He read law in his father’s office in his native town, and having removed to Iowa, farmed two years in Page County and was admitted at Clarinda in 1880. He has been in practice in Calhoun County, Iowa twenty-three years and served six years as County Attorney, three terms as Mayor of Rockwell City and has been local attorney of the Illinois Central, the C. M. & St. Paul, and the C. R. I. & P. railroad companies.
