Joyce Ann Hinders, age 75, of Clarksville, Iowa, was born the daughter of Henry and Mary Maxine (Hahn) Kielman on November 27, 1950, in Charles City, Iowa. Joyce was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith in her childhood. She attended country school at Freemont Township #4 through 7th grade and graduated from Clarksville High School in 1969.

On April 18, 1969, Joyce was united in marriage with Roger Eugene Hinders at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Clarksville. The couple live most of their married lives in Clarksville. Through the years Joyce worked at various places including, Poppe & Ken’s Grocery and was co-owner of Happy Day’s Café and Bakery Delight Donut Shop, Joyce was a water meter reader, was employed at Sandy Hill Leather Shop; CUNA Mutual, and sold Avon, She also worked at Clarksville Community Nursing Home and at the Clarksville Childhood Development Center, where she loved caring for the babies.

Joyce attended Immanuel United Church of Christ. She enjoyed golfing in a couple’s league with Roger, going to lunch with her friends, going to the casino, and baking cookies. Her greatest joys were going on day trips with her daughter, spending time with her favorite son and her grandbabies.

Joyce died on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Unity Point Health – Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa from kidney failure. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Maxine Kielman; two sisters, Bonnie Snow and Carol Heath; and two brothers, Keith and Jeff Kielman.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 56 years, Roger of Clarksville; two children, Tracy Hinders of Clarksville and Chad (DeeAnn) Hinders of Clarksville; four grandchildren, Gage Johnson (Mackenzie Gillen), Amanda Dobbs (Dan Gors), Zach (Jess) Dobbs and Abigail (Jeremy) Shier; six great grandchildren, Parker, Freya, Ayden (Kennedi Chapman), Kynsley, Makenna, Luke, and baby Oliver on the way; one brother, Kendall (Karen) Kielman of Clarksville; two sisters, Lola Volker of Norwalk, Iowa, and Cindi (Bruce) Hoodjer of Clarksville; mother-in-law, Ruth Hinders; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Immanuel United Church of Christ with burial at a later date at Lynwood Cemetery, both in Clarksville.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the church before the funeral service.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
