Robert N. Skinner was born in St. Collels , Cronwell, England, March 25,1828, and died Feb. 14. 1902, age 72 years, 10 months, and 21 days. He came to America with his mother in 1851 and settled in Kenosha county, Wis. In the year of 1855 he was married to Miss Mary H. Hickman and the same year moved to Green county, Wis. He united with the Baptist church at Juda in 1860.

He came to Butler county Iowa in the year of 1864 at which place he remained until his death. He united with the United Brethren church at Clarksville in 1890 living a consistent member up to the time of his death.

 Funeral services were held in the Antioch church by Rev. W. M. Stice of the U. B. church, Sunday, Feb. l6th. The large attendance at the funeral was an expression of the high esteem in which he was held. He leaves a wife and ten children, nine sons and one daughter, all of whom were at the funeral, except Charles W. and George W. of Wyoming.

The entire community joins in sympathy with the sorrowing friends.
