Betty Woltman, age 52, of Alta, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at the Holstein Good Samaritan Society in Holstein, Iowa.

Betty Jo was born on December 19, 1965, to Billy and Lorraine (Gunderson) Woltman in Cherokee, Iowa. Baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, Betty and her brothers, Dave, Dale, and Dean, and her sisters, Billie, Trudy, and Carla, grew up in the Cherokee area. She, however, attended Storm Lake High School and graduated with the class of 1986.

Betty loved to gather with her friends for karaoke. Indeed, she passed many hours participating in this activity. In addition, she, really, enjoyed collecting keychains. Moreover, she volunteered at several churches in Laurens as well as at the library. She, also, took care of the activities and events scheduled at the local park shelter house.

Over the years, Betty loved caring for several dogs. Indeed, she leaves behind her beloved dog, Petra, for whom she cared deeply. Moreover, she loved family and friends unconditionally, even her nieces and nephews whom she would take along to the store to buy candy while sharing only a small amount with them. Betty lived her entire life with her mother, becoming her caretaker and trusted companion. A blessing to each another, they spent many hours sharing their similar interests in music and television shows. Betty will, certainly, be, dearly, missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Lorraine Woltman, of Alta, Iowa; her brothers: Dave (Denise) Woltman, of Lake View, Iowa, Dale “Bubba” Woltman, of Alta, Iowa, and Dean (Julie) Woltman, of Manson, Iowa; and her sisters: Billie (Gailyn) Nehring, of Storm Lake, Iowa, Trudy J. (Craig) Schroeder, of Alta, Iowa, and Carla (Kerry) Schubert, of Holstein, Iowa; as well as several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Petra; as well as many extended family members and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her father, Billy Woltman; her grandparents: Ingval and Grace Gunderson, and Herman and Dollie Woltman; and her nephew, Cody Schubert.
