Sara Ramirez Jimenez, age 74, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at her home in Storm Lake.

Sara Ramirez Jimenez, a daughter of Juan and Maria (Jimenez) Ramirez, was born at Queretaro, Queretaro, Mexico, on December 27, 1943. She lived her youth and early adult years in Mexico. In time, she was blessed with four children: Rene, Wenceslao, Elia, and Fernando. Coming to the United States at the age of 38, she resided in Texas. In 1997, however, she moved to Storm Lake, Iowa. While living here, she worked at Tyson Foods for ten years.

Sara attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Storm Lake and faithfully read her Bible. Her special interests included walking, crocheting, and watching soap operas. She valued her family, and she took pride in communicating with them. She will be remembered as a very happy person who enjoyed telling jokes.

Sara’s life and memory are lovingly remembered by her family which includes her two sons, Wenceslao (Victoria) and Fernando (Sonya) Navarro, both of Storm Lake, Iowa; four brothers; and three sisters; as well as other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her son, Rene, and her daughter, Elia.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Storm Lake. Visitation will take place on Friday, October 12, 2018, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
