December 18, 1928 - September 11, 2018Raymond Kevane, age 89, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on September 11, 2018, in Texas.
A son of Michael and Sarah (Distel) Kevane, Raymond was born in 1928 in Rembrandt, Iowa. Raised on the family farm in Rembrandt, he graduated from Rembrandt High School in 1946 before going on to study at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. Later, he earned a doctorate in Rome, Italy, taking time to travel extensively throughout Europe. Eventually, he and his wife, Lillian, settled in Oregon where they raised their three children as he built his twenty-six year consulting business. Among his other achievements, he included serving as a Captain in the Army National Guard.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Lillian; his son, Mark; and his daughters, Karen (Nathaniel), and Mary (Jon); and his grandchildren: Colin, Dawson, Dylan, Bennett, and Greyson.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Storm Lake. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
