James Alvin Faust
April 14, 1940 - April 26, 2018

James Alvin Faust, 78, passed away on April 26, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital in Ronan, Montana, after a battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome.

Jim, a son of Murriel (Lalley) and Alvin Faust, was born on April 14, 1940, in Storm Lake, Iowa. After graduating from Storm Lake High School in 1958, he attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake and later Reisch American College of Auctioneering in Mason City.

In February 1963, Jim enlisted in the United States Army and served overseas until he was honorably discharged in September 1969. Proud to have served his country, he lived in Storm Lake after returning where he owned and operated Faust Real Estate and Auctions.

An avid outdoorsman. Jim had a great love for fishing and hunting. After moving to Montana in 2001, he lived on an acreage complete with a pond and woods at the base of the Mission Mountain Range. His vegetable garden and many fruit trees became the envy of his neighbors. Friends in Storm Lake commented that Storm Lake had a lot more fish once Jim moved to Montana.

A Celebration of Life for Jim Faust will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at 6155 Hwy 110 in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Jim is survived by his partner in life, Linda McCullough; two daughters, Lesli (Prasad) Chavali, of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Lynnae (Justin) Latham, of Spirit Lake, Iowa; a granddaughter, Emerson Latham; a grandson, Jack Latham; and a sister, Trudy (Dave) Samuelson, of St. Ignatius, Montana; as well as by many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents.
