October 27, 1938 - June 15, 2018Wayne Robert Kruse, age 79, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on June 15, 2018, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.
Wayne, a son of August and Dorathea (Buchholz) Kruse, was born on October 27, 1938, in Storm Lake, Iowa. Baptized as an infant and later confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, he remained a lifelong member and attended Zion Parochial school. On April 9, 1967, Wayne married Marian Bolte, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in rural Storm Lake. Subsequently, they were blessed with one son, Kevin.
Wayne had a passion for farming and loved the outdoors. He, especially, loved fishing. Known to tell a good story, he had a jovial spirit. In addition, he loved the Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Twins, and treasured spending time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Kevin Kruse, of Storm Lake, Iowa (special friend, Val Ludwig, of Fort Dodge, Iowa); his grandson, Keagan Kruse; his step grand-children: Josh, Jeremy, and Jennifer; a brother, Don (Carol) Kruse, of Rembrandt, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Janice Kruse, of Storm Lake, Iowa; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, August and Dorathea; his wife, Marian; a brother, Corwin Kruse; and a sister, Darlene Kruse.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Storm Lake. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will take place Tuesday, June 19, 2018, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
