Jean D. Anderson, age 90, of Albert City, Iowa, died on November 9, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Jean Delores Rasmussen, a daughter of Alvin and Elsie (Nelson) Rasmussen, was born at Viborg, South Dakota, on June 26, 1927. She spent most of her youth in Albert City where she graduated from high school. Then, she married Alvin “Allie” Anderson. Two children, Mike and Cyndie, celebrated this marriage. She and Allie, also, spent their married life in Albert City where Jean worked first as a telephone operator and later in a managerial position at the elevator.

A member of the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Albert City, Jean enjoyed playing Bingo and cards with her friends as well. She loved her family very much and cherished the times she could spend with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Jean’s life is remembered and honored by her family which includes her children: Mike (June) Anderson, of West Des Moines, Iowa, and Cyndie (Royce) Holt, of Albert City, Iowa; her grandchildren: Libby, Robby, Josh, Chad and J.D.; and her great grandchildren: Dylan, Zac, Sadie, Paxton, Cody, Dakota, Kennedy, Alex, Clare, Scott, and Landon; as well as other extended family members and many lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Allie, on July 4, 1980.

Graveside services will be held Monday, November 13, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Fairfield Township Cemetery in Albert City. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Albert City is in charge of the arrangements.
