Margaret Miller, age 86, of Storm Lake, Iowa, died on November 2, 2017, at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.

Margaret Rose, a daughter of Richard and Margaret Livesay, was born on September 6, 1931. Confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Newell, Iowa, she attended school in Delphos, Iowa, where she graduated from high school. Then, after attending and completing cosmetology school in Des Moines, she worked as a beautician managing a shop in Spencer before working for many years as a stylist in Storm Lake. She treasured the friendships of her many long time clients.

On May 10, 1965, Margaret married Donald D. Miller at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Subsequently, they were blessed with three children: Gordon, Caroline, and Dawn. When at home, she cherished time with her family, hosting holiday meals and persuing her hobbies: baking, sewing, knitting, latch-hooking, and embroidering. She enjoyed having her grandchildren visit after school during their younger years. An avid follower of her grandchildren’s sporting events, she listened to the radio broadcasts of their games and liked reading about them in the sports section of the local newspaper. A member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, she greatly appreciated Pastor Lesemann and parishioners' visits in her later years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Gordon (Beverly) Miller, of Storm Lake, Iowa, Caroline (Chad) Mason, of Storm Lake, Iowa, and Dawn Miller, of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; her grandchildren: Aaron Miller, of Ames, Iowa, Dawson Miller, of Storm Lake, Iowa, Landon Moore, of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, Brenna Richter, of Vermillion, South Dakota, and Kyle Richter, of Quincy, Illinois; her great grandchildren, Ava and Nolan Richter, of Quincy, Illinois; and her sister, Georgia (Eardley) Scadden, of Winfield, Kansas; as well as extended family members and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Miller; her parents, Richard and Margaret Livesay; her parents-in-law, Emil and Esther Miller; an infant granddaughter, Sarah Rose Miller; three brothers; and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in Storm Lake. Visitation will take place during the hour before the church service. Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
