Richard C. Lambert, age 81, of Newell, Iowa, died on Monday, September 4, 2017, at the Pleasant View Home in Albert City.

Richard Charles Lambert, a son of Sydney and Jennie (Johnson) Lambert, was born on December 12, 1935, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. Baptized as a young child at St. Anthony of Padua’s Catholic Church in Ely, Minnesota, he later confirmed his faith there in 1946. He attended St. Cycil Catholic School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1953, however, he graduated from Edison High School in Minneapolis. He, then, continued his education at the Minnesota Business School and the DeVry Electronic School in Chicago.

On April 12, 1958, Richard married Esther Gosh. To their marriage, two children, Charles and Melinda, were born. On October 20, 1972, He married Marjorie Winders in Newell, Iowa. Affiliated with the Evangelical Covenant Church in Albert City, Richard, also, belonged the Moose Lodge in Storm Lake. A few of Richard’s favorite passtimes included throwing horseshoes and playing golf.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children: Charles (Kim) Clausen, of Scottsdale, Arizona, Melinda (James) Shough, of Paradise Valley, Arizona, Barbara J. Stroud, of Newell, Iowa, and John Winders, also of Newell, Iowa; his grandchildren: Evan, Kristen, Keaton, Victoria, and Caston; his brother, Ron (Charlene) Lambert, of Monticello, Minnesota; and his sister, Mary Jo (Dick) Davis, of Mesa, Arizona; as well as extended family members and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie; and many aunts and uncles.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, September 10, 2017, at 8:00 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery, 1844 555th Street, Newell, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will follow from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Pleasant View Home, 410 Spruce Street, Albert City, Iowa. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Newell is in charge of the arrangements.
