Brian E. Armstead, 56, of Independence, IA, died on Tuesday November 24, 2020 at the Unity Point – Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, IA.

Brian was born on July 31, 1964 in Independence, IA the son of Edwin E. and Mary J. (Kelm) Armstead. He was a 1983 graduate of the Independence High School. On June 16, 1989 he married Kimberly King, and they made their home in Independence. Together they had three children, Marquessa, Briana, and Bryan. They later were divorced in 2008. Brian work for many years as an electrician, with Armstead High Line Construction, Shaw plumbing and Heating, and Chad Weber Plumbing & Heating. Later he worked for Bertch Cabinets, the Checkered flag in Independence as a bartender, and Hardware Hank.

He is survived by his children; Marquessa (Christopher) Phipps, Jacksonville, FL, Briana Armstead, Independence, IA, and Bryan Armstead, Independence, IA, seven grandchildren, a sister, Barbara (Mike) Miller, Lawrence, KS, four brothers; Duane (Linda) Armstead, Greenfield, IA, Robert (Traci) Armstead, Independence, IA, Berton (Linda) Armstead, Independence, IA, and William (Deanna) Armstead, Independence, IA and many nieces and nephews.

Brian is preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Mary Armstead.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The Reiff Family Center – Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
