Velma R. Flaucher-Falck, 84, of Cedar Falls, Iowa and formerly of Oelwein, died on Sunday evening, March 3, 2019 at the Western Home in Cedar Falls.

Funeral Services for Velma R. Flaucher-Falck have been changed to 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 8, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Oelwein with Pastor Dave Byrd officiating.

Visitation: 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Friday at the church.

Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein.

Memorials may be directed in her name to the First Baptist Church of Oelwein.

The Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein is assisting the family.

Velma Ruth Flaucher was born February 10, 1935 at Hazleton, Iowa, the daughter of Amos and Florence (Short) Flaucher. She graduated from Hazleton High School in 1953 and later received her master’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa. In 1958, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Bienfang at Waterloo and to this union, three children were born. Velma and Kenneth later divorced. In 1994, Velma was united in marriage to James Falck in Oelwein. Velma taught school in the Waterloo and surrounding areas and Area 7. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Oelwein. Velma enjoyed water color painting, oil painting and writing.

Velma is survived by her 3 children: Kende (Todd) Wynn of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Victor (Michele) Bienfang of Cedar Falls and Rodney (Jean) Bienfang of Maxwell; 8 grandchildren; 1 step granddaughter; 1 sister: Norma Bird of Waterloo; 1 sister-in-law: Shelby Flaucher of Birmingham, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on April 16, 2018; sister and brother-in-law: Marlys and Don Verbeck and a brother: Jack Flaucher.
