Mabel M. Bockholt, 73, of Fairbank, Iowa died on Tuesday evening, November 29, 2011 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home at Oelwein, Iowa; Officiating: Rev. Bob Browne; Visitation: from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home and after 9:30 A.M. on Saturday; Interment: Grove Hill Cemetery in rural Readlyn,Iowa

Mabel Marie Popenhagen was born on July 30, 1938 in rural Wadena, Iowa, the daughter of Joy and Fern (Ward) Popenhagen. She graduated from Fayette High School at Fayette, Iowa in 1955. Mabel married Roy Sandhagen and they later divorced. On August 20, 1961 she married Henry Duane Bockholt at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. Mabel was a homemaker, a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church at Oran, Iowa and a member of the Red Hat Society.

She was preceded in death by her Parents—Husband (H. Duane Bockholt on October 23, 1994)—Daughter and Son-in-law(Brenda and Dennis Neil on September 16, 2001)—Son(Bruce Bockholt on June 4, 1977)—Son-in-law(Jim Oberheu on May 7, 1989)—and a Brother (Russell Popenhagen).
