Mary D. Voshell, 64, of Jesup, Iowa died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

No funeral services are planned at this time.
The Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein, Iowa is assisting the family.

Mary Dee Schmidt was born December 17, 1953 at Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Dale Carl and Margaret Lulu (Holm) Schmidt. She graduated from Tripoli High School and attended Hawkeye Tech. After 45 years as a couple, Mary and Allen Joseph Voshell were united in marriage on July 12, 2015. Mary was employed for many years as a waitress at various restaurants. She enjoyed spending time with her son and granddaughter, watching football and baseball, playing games and flower gardening.

Mary is survived by her son: James Voshell of Jesup; granddaughter: Madison Voshell of Waterloo; sister: Pat Schultz of Sumner; step-brother: Tom Green of New Hampton; sisters-in-law: Pam Skinner of Maynard, Mary Ellen Good of Maynard and Cheryl Davis of Lime Springs; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on March 28, 2018; 2 brothers: James Schmidt at infancy and Gregory Schmidt; sister: Connie Gardner; and step-sister: Deb Block.
