Lourie C. Hutsenpiller 67 years old, of Independence, Iowa, died on Friday, March 30, 2018, in Independence. She was born in Independence on October 4, 1950, the daughter of Clement Hugh and Deloris Darlene (Bergstrom) Lynch. In 1968, she graduated from high school in Independence. On February 11, 1972, she and Terry R. Haas were married in Independence. They later divorced. On June 13, 1993, she and Mitch S. Hutsenpiller were married in Breckenridge, Pennsylvania. He preceded her in death in 2008. Mrs. Hutsenpiller was a support staff person at the Mental Health Institute and 4 Oaks in Independence until her retirement. She always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and her pets.

Mrs. Hutsenpiller is survived by 2 sons, Aaron (Linda) Haas of Independence and Tracy Haas of Des Moines, Iowa, 4 grandchildren, Danielle, Kodey, Mady, and Brandon, her mother, Deloris Lynch of Independence, and 1 sister, Anne (Larry) Dake of Vinton, Iowa.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at the White Funeral Home in Independence with Rev. Scott Meador officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence. Friends may call for visitation from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, April 2nd, at the White Funeral Home in Independence.
