Terence (Terry) Knipfer

Terence (Terry) Knipfer passed away at the UT Hospital on February 28 from complications following a traffic accident.

Terry was married to Donna Dee Circus for 58 years. They raised four children, Brent, Todd, Julene and Sarah, near Winfield, IA. There are six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Other survivors include brother Barton Knipfer, sister Polly Williams, and sister-in-law Beverly.

Born on December 5, 1935 in Independence, IA, Terry was the eldest son of Dr. Robert Knipfer and Marion Knapp Knipfer. After completing high school and studies at Iowa State University, Terry enlisted in the US Army, serving three years. He worked as a laborer in many occupations. In 1965 he created Terry’s Handy Andy and worked for many satisfied customers in southeast Iowa. Terry became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1964.

Due to a fall in 1994, he endured the rest of his life as a quadriplegic.

The Knipfers retired to Crossville, TN in 2000.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jehovah’s Witnesses or American Cancer Society.

The family thanks the Crossville and UT Hospitals, Hood Funeral Home, and all friends and loving relatives for their support.

Terry’s funeral is 5 pm, March 24, 2018 at the Crossville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
