Lois Nadine Crawford, 92, of Jesup, passed away at home on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, surrounded by her family.

She was born July 9, 1925 in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Raymond R. and Ruth (Whitney) Hoffman, Sr. Lois graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1942.

She married Robert O. Crawford on July 27, 1944 at the Barclay Presbyterian Church in rural Dunkerton. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2009.

Lois retired in 1994 from Parker’s Furniture Store, where she worked for years after spending most of her adult life as a farm wife and dedicated mother. She was very active in her community and held her friends and neighbors very dear. She was a member of the Eastern Star, White Shrine, and a longtime member of the Federated Women's Club, as well as a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Jesup.

She is survived by: four sons: William (Elaine) Crawford of Glidden, IA, Steven (Francie) Crawford of Fredericksburg, IA, Richard (Patricia) Crawford of Waterloo, and Jeffrey (Amanda) Crawford of Jesup; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Raymond (Darlene) Hoffman, Jr. of Waterloo; a sister, Vesta (George) Maize of Westminster, CO; a brother, Glen (Celeste) Hoffman of Waterloo; a sister-in-law, Grace Crawford of Chandler AZ; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her stepmother, Bernice; her husband; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Virginia Franck.

Services are Saturday, September 16, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church in Jesup with burial in the New Barclay Cemetery.
