Nell “Marie” Taylor, 85, of Strawberry Point, Iowa died Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home in Strawberry Point.

Funeral Service: 6:30 P.M. Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Arlington United Methodist Church in Arlington, Iowa with Lay Servant Janis Breitsprecher officiating.
Visitation: 3:00 to 6:30 P.M. Wednesday at the church.
Interment: 9:30 A.M. Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.

Nell Marie Schroyer was born September 1, 1931 at West Union, Iowa the daughter of Otto D. and Victoria Elizabeth (Stall) Schroyer. On June 19, 1949, she was united in marriage to Gerald Wayne Taylor, Sr. at West Union, Iowa. Marie was a devoted homemaker. She was a former member of the Emmanuel Methodist Church in Maynard and Methodist Women. Marie enjoyed reading, puzzles, going for rides and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Marie is survived by her 4 sons: Gerald Taylor, Jr. of Lamont, Leonard (Sandy) Taylor of Napa, Idaho, Kim Taylor of Strawberry Point and Don (Chris) Taylor of Winthrop; 1 daughter: Dora Lee Shaffer of Cedar Rapids; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 1 brother: Richard (Mary) Schroyer of West Union; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Gerald, Sr.; daughter: Dawn Marie Taylor; 3 brothers: George Schroyer, Gerald Schroyer and Robert Schroyer; and 1 sister: Margaret Peterson.
