Independence – Veronica A. Cornwell, 56 years old, of Hazleton, Iowa, died on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at her home in Hazleton. She was born on October 7, 1959, in Oelwein, Iowa, the daughter of Delbert Lee and Evelyn Alta (Johnson) Cornwell. She finished her high school education at Hawkeye Technical College in Waterloo and then attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. Veronica was a caregiver and home maker. She was always willing to help her family and friends with most any task. She also was a collector. Usually it was anything with an image of Tweetie Bird on them.

Veronica is survived by her daughter, Katie (Daniel) Faircloth of Tama, Iowa, 1 son, Joseph (Amanda) Graves of Hazleton, and 5 grandchildren, Briana, Tamara, Thomas, Savannah, and Ron Ray. She is also survived by 4 brothers, Danny (Kathy) Johnson and Kelly (Shelly) Cornwell, both of Independence, and Bob (Nellie) Harn and Jeff (Donna) Cornwell, both of Oelwein, Iowa, and 2 sisters, Michaela (Dennis) Graves of Hazleton, and Sandy Miller of Des Moines, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016, at the White Funeral Home in Independence, Iowa, with Rev. Frank Lovera officiating. Burial will be in Littleton Cemetery in Littleton. Friends may call for visitation from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.on Thursday, Mar. 10th, at the funeral home.
