Patricia R. Miller, 83, of Independence, Iowa died Wednesday morning, March 20, 2013 at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence, IA.

Patricia was born on January 2, 1930, near Altus, Arkansas. She moved with her family to the Waterloo, Iowa area where she graduated from High School. Pat became employed in the cafeteria of Rath Packing Company. On April 23, 1949 she was united in marriage to Ephraim J. Miller in Galena, Illinois, The couple farmed in the Independence/Quasqueton, Iowa area, and Pat was employed with the Mental Health Institute in Independence for over twenty years prior to her retirement.

She is survived by three sons; Robert (Diane) Miller, Elysian, MN, Jeff (Beverly) Miller, Independence, IA., Richard (Debra) Miller, Independence, IA., fourteen grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband E.J. Miller in 2002 and a brother Robert Carroll.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, March 23, 2013 in the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, IA., with Rev. Scott Meador officiating.

Burial will be in the Wilson Cemetery, Independence, IA. Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Friday and from 9 AM till Services Saturday at the funeral home.
