Nancy Jane Miller, 85, of Independence, Iowa died peacefully on June 18th, 2014 at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence, IA

Nancy was born on June 20, 1928 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Oscar & Gertrude (Schebler) Petersen, She was a graduate of Clear Lake High School and attended North Iowa Area Community College, in Mason City, IA. On September 23, 1950 Nancy was united in marriage to Roger Miller in Clear Lake, IA. They made their home in Independence
in 1963 where she worked at St. John’s Catholic Schools for 18 years. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and many other things. But she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents

She is survived by her husband Roger, Independence, IA, her children Laurie (Fred) Greiner, Boone, IA, Jeff (Nan) Miller, Elbert, CO, Tim Miller, Ankeny, IA, Steve (Donna) Miller, Independence, IA, and Ann (John) Ohl, Independence, IA. Sixteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and three sisters, Doris May, Ottumwa, IA, Carol Reider, Leesburg, FL, Sue Petersen, Phoenix, AZ.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, June 21th, 2014 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Independence, with Rev. Don Plamondon officiating.

Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:30 to 8 PM with rosary at 3:30 and a wake service at 7:30 PM Friday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence, IA.
