O.P. King was born at Watertown, New York, June 25, 1844, and died in Cedar Rapids, December 28, 1927. When 21 years of age he came to Buchanan county, where he resided for forty-three years, moving to Cedar Rapids. July 25, 1866, he was married to Sarah Custard, who departed this life October 13, 1921. To this union were born three children, Frank and Will who preceded him in death, Frank dying in 1918, and Will in 1921, the year of his mother's death. One daughter survives, Mrs. I.A. Morey, of Cedar Rapids. When he lived here he was engaged iin farming and stock buying. The funeral was held Frday afternoon in the Methodist church in Hazleton, Rev. Heiserman officiating. A quartet composed of Ralph Lewis, Eugene Kiefer, G. Stonebreaker and F. Cowell sang. Burial was in Hazleton cemetery. Mr. King will be missed by his friends for his kindly spirit and friendliness."
