On the 20th of last month Neil
Latham while at Freeport, Illinois,
met a young lady by the name of Hat-
tie Bennett, who having confidence
in his ability and willingness to get
up and build the fires, especially in
warm weather, provided she would
get the kindling wood, and believing
that he would provide the nessaries of
life in sufficient quantities to appease
hunger, she stood beside him and
joined her right hand with his and
promised to love, honor and obey him
during her natural life. Miss Bennett
is 23 years of age and the daughter
of Edmund Bennett of Damascus,
Illinois. The bride remained at her
home but is expected here in about
three weeks, when the young people
will commence house keeping in the
residence lately occupied by Mr. Mart
