Delayed Birth certificates

Have you looked at the Delayed Birth Certificate list for your surnames? My ggm had three childrn listed and they all had different given names for their mother. Helena, Helen and Lena. I am confused. Every other record I have for "Lena" Anderman Bergman has her given name as Lena. Is "Lena " short for Helen or Helena?
You can search for names on delayed Birth Certificates on Familysearch or use list provided by last name.
