10/14/1896“Obituary-
“Mrs. Elizabeth Wuttke (nee Schreier) was born March 9th, 1840, in Stelitz, Prussia. In 1857 whe was joined in marriage with Chas. Wuttke. This union was blessed with 12 children. In 1869 they emigrated to America and settled in Milford, Wis. And in 1875 they came to Iowa and settled near Fredericksburg. Under the administration of Rev. Schnake in Wis., she was brought into close fellowship with Jesus, her redeemer, and became a member of the Evang. Association. She was true to the Christian religion until death. Her end was peace with a bright hope of a future life of bliss and immortality. Her remains were taken to the Zion church, where the funeral services were held and from there the remains were taken for burial to the cemetery adjoining the church.
“She died Oct. 14th, 1896, at the age of 56 years, 7 mo., and 5 days. She leaves a sorrowing husband, four sons, four daughters, and six grandchildren. Four children have preceded her to the spirit world. The funeral was conducted by her pastor, Rev. A. Goetz.”
