Daryl J. Morain, 70, of Ogden, Iowa, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. Rev. Max Phillips will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Peoples Cemetery rural Bouton, Iowa. Carson – Stapp Funeral Home in Ogden is in charge of the arrangements.

Daryl John Morain was born on March 30, 1941, in Ogden, Iowa, the son of Glenn and Katharine (Meier) Morain. He attended Marcy Township Country School and later Ogden High School.

On July 24, 1976, Daryl was united in marriage to Judy Mantz. They were later divorced. Daryl lived and farmed Southeast of Ogden all of his life.

Daryl belonged to Christ Lutheran Church in rural Bouton. He enjoyed farming, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.

Among the survivors are his sister, Donna (James) Grimm; nieces and nephews, Craig Grimm, Carla Danielson, Richard Morain, Sharil Morain, and Robert (Abby) Morain; seven great nieces and nephews; his ex-wife Judy Morain; two step daughters, Kalene (Rick) Summerville, and Karla (Matt) Bott; and five step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Donald in infancy, and LaVerne Morain. Find A Grave.
