Jacob Gordon Heidebrink, 72, passed from this life on Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, IA. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, at Iles Funeral Homes, Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Chapel in Madrid. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, south of Madrid.

Jacob was born on January 6, 1939 in Nobles County, MN to Harm Sr. and Anna Marie (Boots) Heidebrink. He worked for thirty years at the Ankeny John Deere plant and was an active member of AmVets Post 210.

Jacob is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Ardis Heidebrink; daughter, Penny Heidebrink (Grant) Titus; son, Jeff (Betty) Heidebrink; granddaughter, Jacquelyn Heidebrink; grandson, Donald Heidebrink; nine siblings, Fritz (Leona) Heidebrink of Bigelow, MN, Virgil (Amy) Heidebrink of Sun City, AZ, George (Shirley) Heidebrink of Worthington, MN, Harm (Harriet) Heidebrink of Buffalo, MN, Leo (Thelma) Heidebrink also of Worthington, Ruth (Frank) Perrin of Valle De Ora, TX, Robert (Rita) Heidebrink of Sacred Heart, MN, Duane (Marilyn) Heidebrink of Madrid, IA and Lois (Tom) Anderson of Windom, MN; and a host of many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Jacob was preceded in death by his parents; one brother at infancy, Lawrence Heidebrink; and one sister, Melvina Thompson.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 14, at the funeral home.The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at the Bliss Cancer Center of Mary Greely Hospital and the staff of Israel Family Hospice for all of their extraordinary care.
