WATERLOO, IOWA -- James Leo Magee, 80, of North Liberty, formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, Oct 17, at Covenant Medical Center from complications following surgery.

He was born Sept 15, 1918, in Bluffton, son of William and Mary Brenning Magee. He married Ursula M. Schneider on April 10, 1950, in Sumner. Mr. Magee was employed at Rath Packing Co., retiring in 1978.

Survived by: his wife; a son, Ronald J. of Oklahoma City, Okla; two daughters, Karen. S. Lyons of North Liberty and Rhonda J. Lane of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and two sisters, Mary Borseth and Annie Sutton, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: a brother, John; and three sisters, Rose Henry, Wilma Good and Grace Bergman.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Evansdale, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waterloo. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 3 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service.

Memorials: may be directed to the church.
