Craig Arthur Weltzin

Craig Arthur Weltzin was born on September 20, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Floyd and Frances (Griffith) Weltzin.

In 1965, he moved to Chicago to live with his father. Craig served his country in the United States Army for two years. After receiving an honorable discharge, he returned to Chicago where he worked as a union painter.

In 2007 Craig returned to Iowa before making his home in Gilbertville. He was a proud member of the American Legion in Gilbertville. Craig enjoyed fishing and playing cards but most of all, he loved spending time with his dog, Lucy.

Craig passed away at the age of 69 years on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at Covenant Medical Center of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings: Gary Young, Floydene Lee and Celeste Weltzin.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia (John) Handy of Norwalk, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and other beloved family members.

Memorials may be made to the American Legion in Gilbertville.
