Louise G. “Sister Horton” “Feenie” “Grandma” Horton, 89, of Waterloo and formerly of Ebenezer, Mississippi, died at ManorCare Health Services, on Saturday December 8, 2018.

Grandma was born on March 28, 1929 in Ebenezer, Mississippi, the daughter of Bea and Cherry (Lambert) Parks.

She married Samuel Horton and they were later divorced.

Feenie worked for Pitze's Beauty Salon and Hickory House for several years. She then worked as an environmental specialist at Allen Hospital until retiring in 1991.

Sister Horton was an active member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church for over 60+ years. She enjoyed traveling, cross stitching, puzzles and word finds. She was known for her cooking, especially her chicken. Louise also had a green thumb, always tending to her flowers and vegetable garden.

Survived by her children, Sami Maxie of Oakland, CA, Charles Horton of Waterloo, Robert Horton of Waterloo, Diane Horton of St. Paul, MN, Ricky Horton of Minneapolis, MN, Loretta Horton of New Brighton, MN, and Felicia Carter of Waterloo (former son in law; Derrick Carter), nineteen grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Nellie Owens and Posey LeFlore both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents; seven siblings, Evie Horton, Charles Parks, Maeola Hemmitt, Willie B. Stewart, Harris Parks, Rhoda Cunningham, and Earlie Parks.
