Mrs. Eva Hacker, 72, 328 Webster Street, wife of Joseph Hacker, early day hardware merchant, died at 9pm yesterday in a local hospital of paralysis after several weeks' illness. She had resided in Waterloo since 1873, when she came here as a bride from Bremer county.

Mrs. Hacker was born June 8, 1855, at Davis, Ill., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wieck. In 1868, she came to Iowa with her parents, settling in Bremer county. She was married to Mr. Hacker who was established in Waterloo, in 1873.

Surviving besides the husband are two sons, Fred J. Hacker, Waterloo and Sidney J. Hacker, Urbana, Ia., a daughter Mrs. E.F. Riley, Mattoon, Ill., and these brothers and sisters: Sidney Wieck, Waterloo; Jacob Wieck, Blankton, S.D,; William Wieck, Cedar Falls; Frank and Mary Wieck, Garrison, S.D., and Mrs. Emma Reep, Wilmar, Kan. Six grandchildren are also living.

Funeral services will be at 9 a. m. Thursday from St. Mary's church. The Rosary Society from this church will meet at 7:30 p. m. Wednesday at the O'Keefe & Towne funeral home.
