WATERLOO, IOWA - Darlene E. Moore, 75, of Waterloo, died Friday, Jan. 16, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

She was born May 19, 1933, in Denison, the daughter of John and Florence Davis Grill. She married George "Ed" Moore on May 10, 1953, in Waterloo.

She graduated from Coon Rapids (Iowa) High School and Pitzie's Beauty School. She was a beautician with her own shop in Waterloo for many years.

She was very active in the Kinglsey School PTA, West Junior and West High Parent organizations, a member of the Snowhawks Snowmobile Club, the Honda Goldwing Road Riders Chapter I and the Red Hat Society. She had been secretary of the Snowhawks Snowmobile Club, Queen Mother of the Honda Hotties Red Hat Group, held many positions with the Chapter I of GWRRA and, with Ed, was the 2005 Couple of the Year of that organization.

Survived by: her husband; a daughter, Lisa (Michael) Tegels of Urbandale; a granddaughter, Elin Tegels; a grandson, Joe Tegels; a brother, David Nelsen of Waterloo; a sister, Carol Adair of Waterloo; and a stepbrother, Ron (Ann) Gitsch of Independence.

Preceded in death by: her parents; her stepfather, Arnold Nelson; and an infant daughter, Sharon Ann Moore.

Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
