Biography--

Dennis Kurt Shull, 58, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, April 16, 2018 at his home.

He was born December 26, 1959 in Cedar Falls, son of Joseph and Ardith Howell Shull. He married Heidi Paulson on March 19, 1988 at First United Methodist Church in Waterloo; they later divorced. He graduated from East High School in 1978. He also obtained a degree in animal science at Hawkeye Tech and later earned his bachelor’s degree from UNI in 1991.

Dennis worked as a hog buyer at Rath Packing Company in the early 1980s and worked for the Waterloo Community Schools for over 30 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls. He was also member of Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited.

He enjoyed hunting with his son, Joe, and loved the outdoors. Dennis loved spending time with his family and had a generous heart.

Dennis is survived by his son, Joseph Shull of Cedar Falls, IA; ex-wife, Heidi Paulson of Cedar Falls, IA; a brother, Neal Shull and his wife, Marnie of Fremont, NE; two sisters, Lezlie Shull of Germany and Amy Shull of Des Moines, IA; a sister in law, Colette Shull of New Hartford, IA, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michael Shull.
