Marvin B. Olson, 88, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at his home in Cedar Falls.

He was born February 12, 1930, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Bernhard and Kathleen (Lantz) Olson. Marvin married Beverly Fay, July 12, 1952 in Cedar Falls. He attended UNI for two yeas and worked for John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works as a Computer Programmer, retiring in 1984. Marvin was a veteran of the Korean War, serving both in the Navy and Marines Corp.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Olson, of Cedar Falls; two sons, Craig (Debora) Olson, of Buckeye, and Scott (Brenda) Olson of Denver, Iowa; three daughters, Cathy (Chuck) Parsons, of Cedar Falls, Lori (Stephen) Knapp, of Waterloo, and Coni (Jim) Hansen, of Waterloo; fifteen grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren, and six step great-grandchildren; one brother, David (Laura) Olson, of Cedar Falls; three sisters, Wanda Avis, of Tucson, Arizona, Marilyn (Russ) Price, of Cedar Rapids, and Marva (Dave) Glass, of Eddyville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James and Martin Olson.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with visitation one hour before services. Inurnment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waterloo. Military Honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Memorials may be directed to the family. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
